Anzac Day clash

April 25, 2007

Dad reckons I dropped the lip after Collingwood lost on Saturday, and that’s why I had ta go to hospital… wrong! They let me out yesterday after two days of tests, and it turns out I’m lactose intolerant… so I’ve traded Mum’s conveniently packaged food for a special formula, and now no more tummy aches or reflux :-) Dad might have a point though, ’cause guess what… I’m good, and us Magpies downed the Essendon Bombers 95 to 79 in today’s annual Anzac Day match. The boys need some kicking practice but… 12 goals 23 behinds; shocking!

Now for some hot goss…

 Sooold

Yep, ya wouldn’t believe it, Mum and Dad sold my house… we’re moving out to Knuckeys Lagoon in a few weeks. Dunno how I’ll go living in the bush but Mum looks pretty happy, and Osama and Gucci’ll go nuts :-)

‘Pie vs ‘Pie

April 22, 2007

Weeell… Grandpa’s pretty pleased with himself; me… I’m not so happy! Not only am I feelin’ a bit crook, in fact I’m gunna spend tonight at the hospital for a check into my broken sleep, but Port flogged Collingwood 84 to 66 on Saturday night :-(  We had ‘em, just, for three quarters and then they romped home.  Grandpa wanted ta bring his Port Power blanket and rug me up, but Mum reckons “Blah, don’t bring that in this house” :-) Tee hee… me an’ Grandpa tricked her…

Grandpas cool Port Power blanket

Pretty cool blanket, Grandpa, but it’s just not fair, ya know… Port Adelaide were the Magpies before they joined the AFL… fancy gettin’ beat by another mob of Magpies!!

Bath time’s gettin’ ta be a real blast… I usta hate water, but Mum and Dad got me this cool seat; I feel like royalty sittin’ up there on my throne :-) I gotta new trick too, splashing Mum… works a treat! I tell ya, I’ll be swimming before I can walk.

My new throne

Ahem… note the modesty panel; many thanks ta Grandpa and the AFL. Now that there’s girls around, ya can’t be too careful! I don’t know how well me ‘n Grandpa will be gettin’ on after this weekend though; it’s Collingwood v Port Adelaide… someone’s gunna be sorry… Grandpa :-)

Black (and White) Friday

April 15, 2007

Friday the 13th might be unlucky for some, like Tigers supporters, and we mighta took a battering…

Magpies never say die!

but check the smile… it was all good :-) , the mighty Collingwood Magpies made it through again. The scores were locked at 3/4 time, but at the final siren, when it really counts, we were 25 points up… yaaaay!

Just in case there’s any doubt where mine and Mum’s loyalties lie, how’s the new bib she bought me?!!

Number one fan!

Blokettes!

April 13, 2007

I found out something reeeal interesting the other day… Ya know how there’s blokes and, well blokes… well some of those other blokes aren’t blokes!! Kate and Aaron brought their baby over to our house for a sorta “meet and greet” and, as ya can see, we were just chatting away on the couch, looking flash as in our matching nappies.

Two cuties

But here’s the crunch, no wonder she’s so cute… Abbey, born on August 3rd last year, is a girl !! Who’d a thought it… there’s boys and girls, must be sorta like dads and mums. A bloke’s gunna hafta be a bit more careful when he drops his nappy in future :-)

Happy!… and sad

April 8, 2007

Happy Easter everyone… check out the ears :-)

The Easter Bunny

If I don’t look too happy, you’re right… the Magpies went down 75 to 87 against West Coast Eagles last night, but hey… it’s Easter… get over it!

Grandma and Grandpa came over to Mum and Dad’s for Easter brekky, lucky them, but then Grandma gave me some too… courtesy of Mum’s milking machine :-)

Easter brekky with Grandma

After some technical stuff, like a new nappy etc, it was off to East Point Reserve at Fannie Bay for the traditional Greek Easter celebrations. Easter Sunday also marks end of Lent, and each year the bulk of Darwin’s Greek community gathers for a grand feast to mark the end of 40 days of fasting.  What a great day, but pretty hectic… lucky Aunty Katie was there with a comfy shoulder for a bloke ta rest on :-)

Cousin Leo

April 5, 2007

I caught up with my new cousin Leo earlier in the week. Young Leo Alexander Mavros… ’cause being born on March 19th makes him a whole six weeks younger than me :-) , lines up with cousins Charlie and Joseph as the third son for Uncle Billy and my Na Na to be, Tiana.

 Leo Mavros and Charles Hyde

Tell ya what though, he started lookin’ a bit worried when I pointed out that, instead of watching it on TV, maybe me ‘n him could slip away to Perth over the Easter weekend and see the Magpies flog the West Coast Eagles live!!

Leo 'n me planning a footy trip!

Wharf!

April 1, 2007

It just gets better… yesterday we won our first round football match, and today I got to go to Stokes Hill Wharf for tea again :-) Grandpa ’specially likes goin’ there; it’s his favorite place in the whole world, I reckon!

Me 'n Dad at Stokes Hill Wharf

We had company for tea; seems like border security is lax again… this time Colin and Lana McKenzie from Tennant Creek got over the Berrimah Line. They’re old friends of Dads, and Grandma and Grandpa, from when they all used to live there.
