Go the ‘Pies!

March 31, 2007

Mum took me for my first lot of injections yesterday… there was heaps, yuk! I felt like a porcupine after all those needles; last night was a rough night,  I tell ya. Check out those bandaids… ouch!!

 Check out the bandaids... ouch!

Today was heaps better;  we went to Yia Yia’s to see my first game of Aussie Rules on her TV… Collingwood vs North Melbourne! Ya might have guessed I’m a Magpies supporter, much to Dad’s disgust :-)

Dad loves my shirt... not!

It was a great game, but ya had ta feel sorry for the Kangaroos… we sucked ‘em in by letting ‘em cream the first three quarters, then wham… we whacked on 44 points ta beat ‘em by 3 points, heh, heh :-)

Goal... another one!!

Prepack food!

March 21, 2007

Ya reckon my Dad’s pretty tricky? I do, and he does too, heh heh… but Mum says that she does the hard part, and we’re just takin’ the easy way out!

Feeding time

Tell ya what though, it’s hard work… wore me an’ Dad out :-)

Finding Charles’s

March 20, 2007

I heard about another Charles Hyde over in WA, so a week ago I sent Grandma and Grandpa over to check it out and report back “tout de suite”. Turns out he’s Charlie Bartlett, my second cousin, and he’s quite a lad too! He sends ya all a big hug :-)

Second cousin Charlie

His Mum, my first cousin, is pretty sweet… bit like my Mum (heart 4 u Mum) Elmo says hi too!

Cousin Billy and son Charlie Bartlett

And by the way Grandpa… “tout de suite” means ASAP not a week later; don’t expect me ta refund your lavish expenses ‘til I get that report!! And if ya mention Great Uncle Dewi’s 50th birthday again, I might just dock ya some more… I know ya didn’t stay in a motel; ya stayed at Great Auntie Mel’s… and Great Uncle Dewi’s!

[Grandpa] “OK, OK… it’s a report already…
Turns out, grandson of mine, that you’ve got some competition. There’s three Charles’s, so far, just on the Hyde side of your generation… and don’t even start me on the Mavros side! But they’re getting it sorted… you’re Charles Darwin, then there’s Charlie Esperance, and Charlie Melbourne. I doubt you can afford much more of a report… See ya :-) ” [/Grandpa]

40 days… +1

March 13, 2007

This morning I got to wear proper clothes… pants, shirt, socks (but no shoes :-) ) When you go to Greek Orthodox church, that’s me,  well forty days after ya get here… you go and get blessed by the priest. But… me and Father Joel (we’re on first name terms now) both had a bad ‘flu yesterday, so he figured seeing as how I’ll probably live to about a hundred… God wouldn’t begrudge either of us one day to get better!

Me and Mum at church

Don’tcha reckon me and Grandpa are pretty flash in our (nearly) matching shirts?

Work, work, work…

March 8, 2007

A man’s work is never done… mowing the lawn with Dad, teaching Mum to read… it’s all go around here! I wanna be like Grandpa… just takin’ pictures all the time :-)

It’s a lawnmower, Grandma, I’ll show ya once more… ya just gotta push it here; it cuts the grass by itself!

Mowing lessons

Now repeat after me, Mum, yellow… yellow balloon on the left and yellow duck on the right… y.e.l.l.o.w… OK?

March 1, 2007
